If you’re out looking for employment, one of your most important tools is your ability to speak. If you're looking to improve your interview and public speaking skills, read a book … any book! It’s best to be reading two books: one about the line of business you're in or looking to get into and along with that try a good piece of fiction. Either way, just make sure you’re reading something. The night before your interview, read for at least a half hour. Reading will give your vocabulary some juice … and reading out loud will give you a boost of confidence.

Reading also helps with fine tuning your thought process and flow to make it a little easier when under pressure. Lastly, if you’re in a pinch, it will also give you something to talk about.
