Turn The Beat Around - Some Good News For Employment

EATONTOWN, NJ (November 23, 2009) - Stage Right: the silver lining emerges to the audience. While the unemployment rate hit the 10% mark this month, some trends are showing that the double-digit number will be the conclusion of the growing jobless benchmark. Snelling Staffing - The Wyckoff Group is reporting that 2010 is set to be a year of growth for the staffing industry, a trend that has preceded virtually every economic comeback in United States history.

"The staffing industry encompasses all types of positions in almost every segment of the employment sector," says Frank Wyckoff, President of Snelling Staffing - The Wyckoff Group. "Because of our unique position within the job market, we're typically the first to get hit by the recession... but also the first to recover."

Wyckoff claims that he's seeing a steady increase in job orders, especially for contract workers. He states that this is a strong indicator of an employment upturn.

"An influx in contract orders means that businesses are preparing to boost production levels, but don't have complete confidence in hiring full-time yet," says Wyckoff. "This is a very typical precedent for an economic bounceback, as employers are looking for some pre-recovery
flexibility."

The Recruiter, an international magazine that issues articles regarding employment, recently published a study that validates Wyckoff's assertions. The research found that while temporary orders fell in 2009 during the recession, they will significantly grow in 2010.

"Temporary staffing is forecast to grow in all sectors...including industrial (15%), finance/accounting (8%), IT (8%), marketing/creative (5%), legal (5%), clinical/scientific (4%), engineering/design (4%), office/clerical (4%) and healthcare (1%)," claims the article.

"The employment trends we're seeing now mirror those that have paved the way for every economic recovery since the Great Depression," adds Wyckoff. "We're poised for growth in 2010, and that's good news for everyone."
