Words from an Expert

We asked Tom Romano, CEO of Gino's Burgers & Chicken for over 35 years, who he thought deserved the position. He believes key attributes for a manager type in his industry are:

  • Honesty
  • Human relationship skills
  • A desire to learn
  • A willingness to embrace change

He was asked if any of those hires were particularly outstanding – good or bad? he responded, "Yes... both good and bad, but be sure to analyze where things went awry. Keep the good and delete the bad from the process."
